MC UTH Gavel Club New Zealand was founded with a vision to empower the youth of New Zealand to develop their communication and leadership skills. Our group is dedicated to providing engaging public speaking and leadership sessions. We help young individuals unlock their full potential. With a focus on nurturing confidence we strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for our participants to thrive. Join us on this exciting journey of growth and self-discovery!

My Story

I used to struggle with my communication skills. I was introduced to Toastmasters, and I found it very useful and helpful in developing my confidence. Since joining Toastmasters I have seen so many people, from different walks of life find the experience of developing themselves invaluable. 

Our History 

After starting a Toastmasters Club in 2014 for adults I then saw the need for something for young people In 2017 together with a dedicated team  (from Toastmasters NZ) we started the first Gavel Club. Young people aged 11-17 years now have a place to grow.  This is still currently the only club of this kind in New Zealand.
